Coco Rocha Modeling Camp

The first blog of the year HAD to be of my time in Coco Rocha Modeling Camp 30. It’s been a hot minute since my time at camp, but I wanted to wait a bit after the holiday madness to publish these photos and really give it the time and attention it deserved.

2019 was by far the most challenging year of my life, my small business grew a lot, but my personal life was slowly becoming more and more chaotic. I applied to the camp on a whim, not thinking that I would get it, as Coco had to review your work and approve of you personally. I thought “there is NO WAY that she will accept me, but let me give it a shot!” The minute I heard back from them accepting me into the program, I was shocked and I may or may not have screamed lol.

The camp is a 3-day training and living with Coco, 20 other models and another female photographer in NYC where we got to learn the in’s-and-out’s of the Fashion industry, building your portfolio, social media marketing and most importantly, POSING.

Posing class was by far my favorite and the most fun. At the begging you feel silly and you are too much in your head, but once you get into it, it is so much fun! I learned so many new techniques and poses, which you guys will eventually get to see in my future shoots ;)

Day 3 was definitely my favorite, this is where the models got to apply everything that they have learned with Coco and I got to shoot Coco.

Shooting Coco was a once in a life-time experience and one that I will never forget. I got to talk to Coco, during which she reviewed my portfolio and told me what I was missing and what I needed to work on, for which we planned. I was missing more dynamic and active posing in my portfolio, it was a lot of the same stuff over and over again. During our shoot, she focused on giving those dynamic and incredible shots. I got to stylize her and direct Coco (which is mind boggling.

The amazing thing about Coco, is not only that she’s a world-renowned model, she is also an incredibly kind person, a mother and a teacher. She teaches the models (and photographers), the in’s and out’s of the industry, gives you confidence and gives you the tools you need for a career in the modeling/fashion industry.

Since the camp, I now have more confidence in my photography, but most importantly I feel more confident in posing and guiding my models and have seen a clear improvement, thus giving them a boost of confidence!

Till next time!
